meet your teacher

Jenna Faccenda is a clinical herbalist and educator with over five years of dedicated study in herbal medicine and ancestral folk practices. Her training weaves together contemporary clinical herbalism with traditional lineages, shaped by mentorship from teachers including Kim Geisler, Brooke Johnson, Jen Stovall, David Meeser, Janet Kent, Lupo Passero, and Ilana Sobo. Her teaching blends folk, practical, and hands-on approaches, offering students tangible skills to take away while centering ritual and deep relationship with the plants. This approach is both practical and reverent, grounded in plant energetics, lived experience and real-world application.

Her ancestral work is deeply informed by Southern Italian folk traditions, studied with Marybeth Bonfiglio and Lisa Fazio, and further shaped through time spent traveling and studying in Italy and Sicily. Alongside formal study, Jenna understands plants as teachers in their own right, learning through observation, relationship, and place-based practice. Her classes invite students into a grounded, respectful engagement with herbalism and ancestral medicine, honoring lineage while meeting the realities of modern life.

Root & Ritual

Root & Ritual is a six-month plant spirit journey rooted in ancestral remembrance, seasonal ritual, and relational herbalism. Running from Beltane to Samhain, this offering invites you into a slow, intentional practice of learning with plants as teachers, through story, spirit, lineage, and lived relationship. This is not a certification or a system to master. This is a remembering. Together, we will work with plants that have been taught, used, and revered through Curandero traditions and Italian folk herbalism, while honoring the truth that we are practicing as Americans—reclaiming, not replicating, ancestral ways. This container holds both reverence for lineage and responsibility for place.
